Wonderful And Miserable by Lorenzo Vitturi
Lorenzo Vitturi takes his diploma in graphics and photography at the IED Institute of Rome in 2004. During the period of his education he works as a scene painter for various movies.
This working experience becomes an integral part of his photographic research way, which sets out for a building photography in which the places are conceived as a scenographical space and the images become the uncertain meeting between reality and pretence.
In December 2004, in a personal exhibition in Rome, he exhibits his work "The Fetishism of Vision" (Il Feticismo della Visione), the result of his experience as scene photographer on the set of "Tulse Luper' s suitcases", the last project of the English director Peter Greenaway.
With this photographic work he wins the national prize for scene photographers "clikciak 5" for the best colour photographic serie.
The following year he concludes his research on the places of Pasolini "Wonderful and poor city" (Stupenda e misera città ) which is partly presented in "Pasolini and Rome", an exhibition curated by Enzo Siciliano at the Rome Museum in Trastevere. Currently he’s working as a photographer for FABRICA, the Benetton’s communication research center based in Treviso.
